JPS Attendance and Uniform Policy Attendance impacts your child's achievement level. Therefore, it is very important that all students attend school and be on time on a regular basis. Instuctional classes begin at 7:45a.m. for all elementary students in the Jackson Public School District. When students arrive after 7:45 a.m., they miss valuable learning time. With the No Child Left Behind Act in place, it is extremely important that students are at school and on time to maximize their learning opportunities. We need your support in this matter. As a part of the JPS School Uniform Policy, all students are required to be in school uniforms daily. Belts must be worn and tops should be tucked in bottoms everyday.
